Zia Uddin is a young development professional working with the Centre for Peace and Justice, BRAC University since its inception. Prior to that he worked for the South Asian Institute of Advanced Legal and Human Rights Studies (SAILS) over a period of one and half year. He was instrumental in providing research assistance, administrative, logistics, communication and IT support to SAILS team. He played a crucial role with the Bangladesh Justice Working Paper Series Project which was jointly implemented by SAILS and BRAC.
Mr.Uddin has been employed by a joint venture between BRAC and the Cambridge Judge Business School (University of Cambridge, UK) as a Research Assistant for one and half year. In his capacity of Research Assistant, Zia has contributed in collecting, managing, cleaning, interpreting and analyzing data. He supervised a team of Research Assistant and worked with organizations including the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, ASA, Grameen Bank, Bangladesh Bank, LGED and other government ministries.
Mr.Uddin has served as the Research and Publication officer at Human Rights Support Center (HRSC) for two years. He has designed and started the publication of Monthly Human Rights Observation Report on Bangladesh from the Centre. Mr.Uddin has received his Bachelor and Master’s Degree from the University of Dhaka on Public Administration
